However, there will be no chasing today. Noah is standing right in the entryway, as if she’s waiting for me. A tiny bit of the pressure on my gut subsides. Her hands fidget at her sides. Her face is free from makeup, and worry lines frame her profile.

So, when I reach her, the first thing I do is hug her. I pull her toward me and wrap my arms around her tightly.

“I’m so sorry, Brazen,” she whispers.

I don’t respond. I know she’s sorry, and I don’t want to make her feel worse about having assumed the worst about me. This bright, optimistic girl I’m getting to know jumped to the conclusion that I was a monster.

It doesn’t feel good.

My arms stay tightly wrapped around her, so she can’t see the pain on my face.

Review: Wicked Charm by Amber Hart!

As soon as I saw the cover for this book back in October, I knew I wanted to read it. After I read the blurb, I knew there was a good chance that I was really going to enjoy this book- because it sounded amazing. 

I decided that in 2018 I was going to be tougher when it came to rating books, that if I was going to give a book 5 stars, it had better earn them. And for the first time in nearly two months, I finally have my first five star book! 

In the first few chapters I felt like Wicked Charm was similar to a lot of young adult novels out there. Girl moves back to town, girl meets and begins falling for bad boy, etc. However, once I got past the first couple of chapters, I became hooked. This book is so unbelievably atmospheric. I've never read a book set mostly in a swamp before, but I loved it. The swamp takes on a personality of its own. It heightens the suspense and lends an eerie vibe to the story that almost has you feeling as if you're there with the characters. 

The story is amazingly written. I never suspected who was behind the murders. Not only that, but I was intrigued by all of the characters and all aspects they played within the novel. Beau the heart breaker with the traumatic past, Charlotte they mysterious sister, Beau's jealous friends, etc. And I loved the bits about the grandparents and their pasts.

The second to last chapter was so unbelievably touching and the last had me smiling. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and am really hoping to maybe get a book about Charlotte next because I feel like she has a great story to tell. 

Wicked Charm is the perfect balance of dark and eerie paired with romantic and suspenseful. It's completely addictive and enthralling and one of the best young adult contemporaries I've ever read.

I’m still reeling. While people approach him, he cuts a path straight to me, his gaze penetrating and target-like; making me want to bolt. I was delighted to hear that Katy was writing a story about Remy and Brooke's son, Racer, and eagerly anticipated its release. Racer has all the typical things I know and love about Katy's books. Great characters, a story that reels me in quickly and keeps me in its grasp the entire time, and enough romance and sexiness to make you swoon from beginning to end. All of her stories are written in this fun and quirky way that always has me wanting more. 

I love the relationship between Lana and Racer. (It gave me flashbacks to Remy and Brooke, whom I was glad to see in this novel, but wish we had gotten to see them a bit more. I miss those two.) I also love the racing aspect to the story because I've never read about a race car driver before and found it exciting and refreshing. I enjoyed getting to read the dual POV from both the main characters. I liked the chance to get inside both of their heads and see things from their perspective. 

I wish there had been a little more about the fact that Racer is also bipolar. It plays such a large role in Remy's story and I would have loved to see more about Racer's journey from finding out to where we see him in the story. (I loved the hospital scene though. That was very touching.) Despite this, Racer is still a solid read from Katy and I look forward to reading what she puts out next.  (I really, really hope she does a book for Iris.)

I have loved everything I've ever read from Rebecca and her writing gets stronger with every book she puts out. Adam and Victoria have had some serious chemistry since the very beginning and this novel was everything I dreamed it would be and more.

Adam Dunne is hands down my favorite Dunne brother. It's no surprise to me that this is my favorite book of the series (so far - I have not yet had the chance to read the last book in the series.) as I seem to have a thing for the third brother in Rebecca's books. (Nathan!!) Adam and Victoria had the most explosive chemistry. Wicked Kiss is raw and sexy, action packed and suspenseful. It's the first book in this series that had me dying to reread it as soon as I was done because I wanted more of these characters. I love that we see Adam finally lose control and break away from the cool and collected persona he displayed in the first three books. And the sensual scenes that follow will have sparks flying off the screen of your reading device. Victoria is spunky and gives Adam a run for his money. 

I am very excited to read book 5, though I am sad that this wonderful series is coming to a close. I have enjoyed every second of these books.
