Blog Tour: Distortion by Deena Remiel!

James White has it all, looks, brains, and a charming personality. But in his romance cover model’s world, those blessings have become a curse. A colleague has blurred the line between life in front of the camera and reality; distorting the truth, and turning a friendship into a dangerous obsession.

Hope Evans had a dream job, working with sexy, hot photographs; turning authors’ dreams into award-winning covers. When unexpectedly laid off, she must find her namesake in life … some kind of hope for her future. Can a birthday wish give her what she truly desires? They say be careful what you wish for.

Destiny brings Jamie and Hope what they’ve been seeking: each other. Fate also throws in a psychopath and her equally sinister sister, both hell-bent on making Jamie and Hope’s world a living hell.
A hero on thousands of romance covers; can he be one for real, when lives are on the line?

It was the mystique of Arizona’s history and landscape that called to Deena and catapulted her career as an author. When she’s not writing urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels in the wee, small hours of the morning or in the deep, dark of night, Deena teaches language arts to middle school students. She currently lives in Gilbert with her husband and two children, but New Jersey will always tug at her heartstrings. She loves connecting with her fans, so find her at deenaremiel.com.

Midnight in LA was like rush hour in LA. It took them twice as long to get back to his place as it should have due to a couple of accidents off to the side of the road. Brake lights and headlights lit up the freeway like a lava flow. Hope had fallen asleep soon after Jamie put her in the car. He replayed everything that had happened since his photo shoot went bust with Brittany and his ire reignited. He didn’t know what he’d do if she tried to contact him again. She’s good, the psychotic bitch, always making it seem as though I’m the bad guy on the phone and she’s only trying to make things right again. At last, he pulled up the driveway and into the garage. He turned off the car and closed the garage door. Time to forget about her and concentrate on the extraordinary woman next to you, bud.
“Hope, babe, we’re here.” He leaned over and kissed her lightly on her cheek. She stirred, turned toward him, and smiled drowsily.
“Oh, good, ’cause I’m in desperate need of a comfy bed and you, mister. What are the chances of me getting those at this time of night?”
He put his forehead against hers and whispered, “I think your chances are pretty damned good. In fact, I’d say it is a sure bet. Place your chips, baby.”
Her throaty laugh sent waves of heat through his body straight to all points south. The nighttime air had caused her voice to deepen and rasp, and sound sexy as hell. “I’ll place my chips, honey. Just show me where.”
“Right here, sweetheart, right here.” He pointed to the bulge in his pants. They burst into laughter that sent tears streaming down their cheeks.
“Oh, my God! That’s the cheesiest line ever.” She shook her head.
“I know! I can’t believe I just said that!” He turned serious and looked at her sparkling eyes for a moment, needing to touch her. He reached out a tentative hand to gently tuck away a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “Let’s get out of here and into that comfy bed you requested.”
“Yes, let’s.” Her eyes spoke the rest of her desires.
***
He brought her straight to his bedroom on the second floor, a master suite, complete with loveseat and sofa by a fireplace at the far end. She marveled at the moonlight casting a soft glow through the amber stained glass windows, illuminating a king-sized bed loaded with pillows of all shapes and sizes. He pushed them aside and lowered her gently to the plush bed coverings, joining her just as she’d been anticipating since before dinner. They stayed locked in a desperate embrace for a while, before he released her. He rose above her like a canopy, his powerful arms and legs forming posts on either side of her. She couldn’t resist, wouldn’t resist the urge to release his hair from its bindings, and raked her fingers through to release their waves. His eyes, golden with desire, seemed to search for refuge in hers.
“I could lose myself in your eyes.”
She parted her lips but found no words to adequately respond. She batted her lashes and turned away, embarrassed and thrilled at the same time. He moved his head and captured her gaze once again. “No, don’t look away. Look at me. Let me find lost in you.” He’d spoken so softly, so openly and raw. She smiled gently at his play on words, loving the intimacy, the perfection, of the moment.
She raised herself up to but a hair’s breadth away from his face. “Kiss me, Jamie, and we’ll find lost together.”

I loved this book when it was Picture Perfect and I love it even more now that it is Distortion!

My original review for Picture Perfect- essentially the first part of Distortion- was,

"Deena Remiel has done it again! Picture Perfect is a fabulous short story that has the perfect mixture of action and sizzling romance. It's a fast entertaining read that will have you falling in love with the characters and will sweep you off your feet."

While all of that is still very much true for Distortion, this story is even more amazing than the original one was. Deena took an already great idea and made it even better by adding a good deal more to the story. Not only is it longer, but it's filled with even more suspense and sexiness that will be sure to have readers hearts racing, palms sweating, and itching for more. It's a classic, read-it-all-in-one-sitting-, roller coaster, page turner. It'll make your heart soar and make your head spin at the same time. And at the very end, it'll have you in tears because despite all that happens to James and Hope- love conquers all.

Deena's normal good vs. evil theme is present and stronger than ever! Terrifyingly wicked bad guys- and girls- and equally terrifying situations. Everything is told in detail- nothing too gory, but just enough to make your mouth dry. Likewise, the good guys are unbelievably good, and have to learn to face their demons at the end.

Distortion is a captivating read with just the right amount of sexy and an HEA. Picture Perfect, if you ask me! ;)

Blog Tour: The Last Kiss by M.R. Murphy!

When time and distance had separated them, Raeve and Aidan look back to the past and clear the way for their future. Once again, time threatens their love as Aidan prepares to eave for his next mission.

Can two star-crossed souls learn to overcome the past in just a few days and pick up where they left off? Or are they doomed to travel the same road once again?
Only time will tell...

Tell my fans a little bit about yourself and your books.
I’m originally from New Hampshire. Shocker, I know given how laid back I am, well mostly laid back…Well ok, I’m a spaz but I’m a funny spaz! I’m a hardcore outdoorsy girl, love working on old muscle cars and I’m also a photographer. I’m a free spirit with lead in my boots, and I have a massive boot obsession. Did I say Obsession? I meant collection…Silly autocorrect…Oh wait, this isn’t an android system. Ugh. Ok…There’s my dirty little secret. I take great pride in my heritage Celtic Irish and Native American, as well as my writing and photography. Ok on to more interesting stuff!
The Last Kiss is a saucy little read, but what my readers probably didn’t know is that out of all the stories I’ve written, that one was the most therapeutic to write. Sometimes during life’s difficult times, words can pour out and spill onto the pages, leaving you feeling free once again.
Raeve and Aidan are a pair of soul-crossed lovers who find each other after years apart. Life had thrown Raeve a nasty curveball, and with time waning, she and Aidan plan to get over the past and start on building a new future. Can things really be that easy?
I have a few novels in the works, all sitting on my editor’s desk and I’m sure she’s cursing up a storm right about now! HA! If you follow me on Facebook @ Twitter @M_R_Murphy, https://www.facebook.com/M.R.Murphy3 Goodreads, or Amazon @ http://www.amazon.com/M.-R.-Murphy/e/B00EFSBIIG  or check out my website for current news and excerpts from upcoming releases  http://authormrmurphy.wix.com/m-r-murphy

How many books have you written? What are their titles?
I have 4 short stories, 1 novella, 3 novels and a file full of more to come!
Short Stories:  Ginn Hunter (Red Wine Anthology); Death Becomes Him (Dark Light I Anthology); Down the Rabbit Hole (Hoblin Goblin Anthology) Soon to be released: Creole Curse
Novella: The Last Kiss {Currently available on Amazon, Kindle, Amazon UK, Amazon Kindle UK, and Creataspace. And will be available through B&N’s and Smashwords in October}
Novels: Ever Mine (coming this fall), Eternally Mine (Spring 2014), Always Mine (Fall 2014)  The Chronicle of the Dark Angels: Darkest Before Dawn (Winter 2013/2014), The Chronicles of the Dark Angels: Rising Sun (Winter 2014)

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
Backpacking, Hiking, Cliff jumping (Yes, I do this more often than most people realize.) Working with horse, spending time with family, and photographing beauty places that most of the population never knew existed.

What advice would you give to an aspiring author?
Well, the best advice I was ever given was this. Show me your story, don’t tell a story. You were born with five senses, engage them all when you’re writing. If you see a chocolate bar, what does it look like? What does it smell like? How does it taste? And always be true to you and your writing style. This isn’t a competition, its life and we’re all in this together. Don’t be afraid to question the norm and color outside the lines. But most importantly, when you feel like giving up…DON’T! Your brilliance will shine through just before you’re about to walk away. Have faith in yourself and BREATH! Rome wasn’t built in a day, and it’ll take longer than that to write the story you envision. Most of all, have fun. Enjoy the ride.

What’s your favorite scene/line from your works?
Well to be honest, my favorite scene I can’t give away just yet. It’s from The Chronicles of the Dark Angels: Darkest Before Dawn, and it would be a HUGE spoiler!  So how about I pull up a line from my favorite short story Ginn Hunter.

Favorite Line:
Marcus to Seth in the final scene: “Hey guys, can we get the hell out of Creepsville now? I think a spider just crawled up my ass and no offense the hospitality here sucks.”
Favorite Scene: “Are you fucking kidding me? He ate you and you’re still alive? Damn, now that’s some serious cellphone service.” he clucked.
“Ha, Ha, asshole. I’ve punched through his stomach cave thing. I can’t cut through anymore. Come on dude, I’m sweating my balls off here.” Marcus barked out. The tightening of his Alice like cave started to shrink around him and air was a precious commodity.
Seth howled out a laugh as he imagined his newbie birthing out the body of a dead Ginn. “Sure man, hang tight. I’ll get you out.” Clicking off the cell, Seth looked back down at Ashley, a glowing smile sliced across his face. “Baby, you might want to step back. Seems my trainee is trapped in your father’s stomach.
“Wow! Um he actually called you from in there?” A small snort shot out as she considered that for a moment. Reluctantly letting him go and pacing back a few steps. “Sure babe, have at it.” Motioning with her delicate hand to the corpse’s body, she waited for Seth to pull out some long sword or scalpel at the very least.
“This will probably get pretty messy. Just FYI.” he offered cautiously, crouching over the body.

What's the hardest thing about writing? The easiest?
Well, I suppose most would say editing, but I actually like it. Why you ask? Well to be honest and I’m just going to lay it all out for you, I was diagnosed with adult ADD a year and half ago. When I first dived back into writing after taking a 10 year break, I was so anxious to get down every single word, and had a great story line going. Funny thing is, when I started writing Ever Mine, I was on a flight from NH to AZ and had on intended it to be a short story. 500 pages and 3 months later (and thankfully has been cut down since then) I had finished writing my first novel. It has taken me many rounds of revisions on it to get it the way I want it. And I’m still not there.

After it seeing the desk of a few editors, it has finally (after 3 years) landed on the desk of my wonderful editor who has been really (a godsend) patient with it and me. It’s great to look back and see how much my craft has improved with each new work, but as I’m currently in the thick of edits with this title, I’m finding myself cringing. Not because of the story itself, but rather because my ADD was so bad when I wrote it, that it now requires a great deal of work to get this story the way I had intended it to be. So I appreciate the editing part.  I would have to say that the hardest part for me is writing those two little words THE END.  I think that’s why I prefer writing series. They don’t end for a while, so I can love on my characters for a long time!
The easiest part of writing for me would be the creative brainstorming part. I have a highly active imagination, find a great deal of inspiration from the beauty outside my door, music and life itself.  *Side note* When I’m out hiking, I always carry my camera for two reasons. 1) Because my other day job is a photographer for my stock photo company and 2) I can use what I see as beauty and inspiration in my writing)

What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Rogue Rider by Larissa Ione and Number The Stars by Lois Lowry (reading this with my kids)

What are you currently working on?
Editing: Ever Mine; Revising Eternally Mine; Writing Always Mine; Outlining Rising Sun

What books did you read as a child?
Judy Bloom, Any Animal books on Horse or dogs I could get my hands on. Photography books, Babysitter’s Club series, and Stephen King…yes….Pet Cemetery at 12 years old scared the crapola out of me. But it was worth every nightmare!

What genre is your favorite to read?
Well I do love paranormal romance greatly, but I prefer to read Suspense and Spirituality titles the most. I love to be left wondering and also enlightened.

How has your life changed since you began writing?
I would say that I’ve finally found a sense of peace in my life. I always felt that I was different than everyone else, because I preferred being by myself, lost in my thoughts than out partying. Now, I get to express myself in a wonderful creative outlet, exposing my craziness for others to enjoy. I love that I can inspire others to go for their dreams as well. After years of being told that this pursuit was a waste of time, that I’d never make it—(not the best support system, as you can imagine) I pushed past all that nonsense and followed through with one achievement after another, if not for any other reason, than to prove a lot of people wrong. I’m such a stinker like that! Once I wrapped up writing on Ever Mine in March of 2010, I instantly felt an amazing and overwhelming sense of pride for accomplishing something that I didn’t think I was capable of. Since then, I’ve set many goals for myself, and with each new achievement, and every milestone I cross, a renewed sense of pride for all I’ve done hits home.  Writing in essence has given me a reason to strive for my dreams and a reason to enjoy something that I’ve put many hours of love into. Regardless if my readers love it or hate (in regards to anything I write) I’ve reached my dreams and the swell of pride I feel for this keeps me going everyday! And I’m truly thankful for all those that I’ve met in this crazy writing community, from authors to readers to bloggers and so forth. The outpouring of love and support I’ve been fortunate enough to experience since the first day I started dabbling in this writing thing, has been so moving. I’m truly blessed to be able to do what I love to do. If you have a dream, and you really wish to strive for it, DON’T let anything stop you. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Do you listen to music while you write?
YES! Always, I’m a music junkie and music holds a great influence over my emotions when I’m writing certain scenes.

What's been your favorite moment as an author?
Well there’s been two favorite moments. First, seeing the pride in my children’s eyes when they opened the box for me and saw my books inside, as they told me how proud of me they were. That moment was priceless. Secondly, When I read my very first review on my stand alone title The Last Kiss, I think that’s when it hit me that I had really made it as an author. Knowing someone actually bought it and enjoyed it enough to post a review made everything that I’ve been working so hard for, become so real. Both equally great feelings!

Out of all of your characters, who is your favorite?
You would ask that wouldn’t you! That’s a tough call. I am very attached to quite a few.  I love Alix (Ever Mine) for her wit and fierceness. I adore Ferrian (TCOTDA) as a kindred spirit that I can relate too. Remi (TCOTDA) is just so wonderful and genuinely kind. Roc, well out of all my characters, (Marcus~ Ginn Hunter included) is by far the biggest wiseass, and I just adore him to pieces!

You’re stranded on a desert island. What books do you take with you? A book on herbology, I wouldn’t want to eat something poisonous. Archeron (Love me some ASH!) The Chronicles of the Dark Angels: Darkest Before Dawn (Yes my own book, it made me cry while writing it and again during revisions) and The Connection by Eric Pearlman

Interesting Facts:
I’m addicted to gummy bears, I love medieval weapons and collect swords, I prefer Batman over Superman (except Henry Cavill…he’s so yummy) I’m working on plans to open a rescue sanctuary for injured and abused horses. I’ve cliff jumped from 60 foot high peaks. I have a strange affinity with fire and water, and I love to meditate daily.

 The Last Kiss
Chapter 1

Catching a glimpse of a man with his eyes purposely purchasing a piece of the floor, he was working hard at his stoic expression while leaning casually against a pillar. Her eyes zeroed in on him, coughing to get his attention. “Nice, babe, you match the wall.” She laughed as he slid out from his hiding spot. The sinuous roll of his gait was like a hungry wolf stalking its prey. His eyes locked onto hers as his demanding strides ate up the distance between them in mere seconds. His lips curled into sinister smile, pretending he was a villain about to kidnap the town’s beauty for his own debauchery.
His deep laugh rumbled through his body like vibrations of ocean waves crashing over the fear that once resided inside his chest. His thick muscled arms wrapped around her tiny frame with ease, lifting her into the air as he crushed her body to his broad chest.
“God I’ve missed you, sweetheart!” Without another word, his lips came crashing down on hers. Like honey to a bee, Aidan sank deeply into her kiss, his greedy tongue slicing effortlessly into her mouth. She didn’t fight it, couldn’t. She’d been dreaming of this moment for weeks, and nothing was going to stop her from indulging in every second of it.
Raeve felt the rightness of being with him, staring into his beautiful ocean blue eyes, feeling his arms wrap around her for dear life. The entire world disappeared as she returned his kiss, locking her arms tight around his neck. Her heart thundered in her ears and nearly pounded out of chest as she hugged him tighter. Her lungs burned for oxygen that she willingly denied, reveling in the feel of his tight embrace. Reluctantly he released her, licking her lips for one more taste. Slowly Aidan stroked her spine, turning her into Jell-o as she saw the burning need he held deep inside. She felt the desire he had for her pressed against her stomach. The heat of his touch, as his fingertips caressed the soft line of her jaw, crushed any notions that he wanted to keep his distance, if only to save his heart.
“I’ve missed you so much, my love,” she murmured. “Now what do you say we get you home? I think we have some things to discuss that require a little more privacy.” Slipping him an impish smirk, she clasped his hand, and intertwined their fingers while walking for the exit.
“Mmm, sounds perfect,” he growled in her ear, pecking another kiss along the soft sinews of her neck. Shivers skated down her spine as his fingertips grazed down her back. Her internal fire erupted from smoldering embers to bonfire in those few first moments. Tightening her fingers around his, her blush deepened to soft crimson and her breath hitched. Pulling him down for another kiss, she wondered if she would ever tire of feeling of those luscious lips pressing against her. “You could set fire to the rain, my love,” she murmured against his mouth.
Slipping him her favorite sultry grin, Raeve imagined Aidan sprawled out on the bed, hands clasped behind his head awaiting her. The idea of his body glistening fresh from a steamy shower, lay out before her viewing pleasure, shot another fiery surge coursing through her veins.
“You’re the gasoline to my fire, sweetheart” With one devilish wink from Aidan, Raeve felt the intoxicating burn of fire lick up her body. Biting her lip to keep her intentions hidden, she couldn’t control the blush of her cheeks from deepening. “Don’t you forget that.” The deep rumble in his voice vibrated over her heated skin, resonating throughout her body like electrical currents with each word he spoke. She could never forget all the late night conversations that had lasted until the early morning hours as they remained tangled in bed. She’d rest her head against his chest as she feathered her fingertips over the hard planes of his chest, talking about anything and everything. Aidan’s deep voice intoxicated her, as syllables slid off his silver tongue with the grace of sensual poetry in motion. © 2013 The Last Kiss by M. R. Murphy

Author Interview and Spotlight: Lisa April Smith!

K: How would you introduce your books to someone that has yet to read them?

LAS: I write character driven novels, which means that I work hard to deliver memorable characters. I also like to incorporate twists and turns in the stories that keep readers glued until the last page, with a little “sizzle” thrown in for fun. I receive rave reviews citing those qualities. But my favorite reviews come from fans who stop to tell me or write lovely notes telling me that one of my books kept them up until 1:00, 2:00, or 3:00 in the morning. And that’s pretty amazing since my genre isn’t thrillers. None of my characters are being stalked by fanatic psychopaths or international spies. I hope your readers will visit my website – http://www.LisaAprilSmith.com – where they will find descriptions of each of my books and the 1st chapters free.

K: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?

LAS: I enjoy lots of things: spending time with friends and family, sight-seeing (but not the traveling portion), music (as a listener not a performer), visiting museums and making jewelry.

K: What advice would you give to an aspiring author?

LAS: One third of the people I speak with tell me that they want to write or have a fabulous story to tell. What I’ve discovered is that you’re either an author or you’re not. If you have that article, essay, poem or book in you that has to come out, do it. Just don’t expect to make a living at it. It’s a tough business. Art is a tough business, but that didn’t stop Van Gogh or Gauguin.

K: What’s your favorite scene/line from your works?

LAS: After giving that question some thought it seems that my favorite scenes are near the end of my books. I work so hard to build the story and suspense that I can’t ruin the suspense by discussing them. But the favorite line that comes to mind is “Gently, so as not to wake him, she kissed him goodbye.” That’s from Dangerous Lies. I worked on that one line for 30 minutes, until I was satisfied with the brevity, simplicity and cadence. You might think that ironic, because the character in Dangerous Lies is a former mob mistress.

K: What's the hardest thing about writing? The easiest?

LAS: Hardest first: deleting entire sections that I’ve slaved over for months. Authors sometimes call this “killing your babies.” In the process of writing my first book I estimate deleting 1,000,000 words – ten times the amount in the final book.
Easiest and most fun: Autographing books for fans.

K: What are you currently reading?

LAS: It might shock you to learn that I don’t read fiction while I’m working. I schedule four to six hours a day, seven days a week, with an occasional day off. That’s a lot of time spent away from reality. I save fiction for vacations and traveling.

K: What are you currently working on?

LAS: For now, I’m only going to say that it’s an epic novel set in ancient China that I’ve been working on for seven years. Its current title is Remembered Tales of China but that may change.

K: What books did you read as a child?

LAS: I read adult books very early. My favorite children’s books are those written by Louisa May Alcott: Little Women and Little Men. I don’t remember my exact age but books I read and loved before I turned thirteen included Diary of Anne Frank, Cheaper by the Dozen, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Smile Please.
By the way, Katerina, while I was jotting down wonderful books from my past I wondered about the last entry. Did anyone read this book and love it as much as I had? I only remembered the title, not the author. So I went to Goodreads, found it there with a few lovely comments attached, and learned that it was written by Mildred Spurrior Topp. The book is long out of print but I managed to track down a copy and order it for my granddaughter. Can’t wait until she’s old enough to read it.

K: How has your life changed since you began writing?

LAS: My life has definitely changed. I’m no longer a cog in a huge corporation. I don’t get to play golf nearly as often as I did. I spend a lot of time alone. That took a bit of getting used to.

K: Do you listen to music while you write?

LAS: I wish I could, I adore a wide variety of music, but I find it too distracting. I listen to music in my car.

K: Out of all of your characters, who is your favorite?

LAS: That’s like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. I love all my protagonists. They all have admirable strong points, quirks and flaws – but that’s what makes them credible, and at times very funny. Jack is doubtless the most flawed and funny of all, but just when you decide that he’s a scheming, manipulative rogue, he surprises you.

K: What do you want readers to take away from your books?

LAS: When people tell me that they read one of my books a few years ago and one or more of my characters continues to stay with them, I’m delighted. That’s exactly what I like to leave with readers.

K: You’re stranded on a desert island. What books do you take with you?
LAS: Let’s face it, surviving on a desert island with limited fresh water and the only thing to eat is what you can catch, outrun or gather forces you to be practical. My no-nonsense left brain would choose a number of books with solid information on how to survive. Then, to help pass the time, I would take the complete works of Marcel Proust and Guy de Maupassant – the English translations. (I can order a meal, get to a bathroom and find my way back to a hotel in French, but that’s about it. Anything that requires conjugation, past or future tense, is light years beyond my skill.)

K: What book(s) do you wish you would have written?

LAS: I wish I had written the Harry Potter series. It’s not my genre. I don’t write or read fantasy. But Harry Potter not only generated a fortune for Ms. Rowlings that allows her to write in any genre she pleases, it inspired millions of kids to love reading – and that’s a fantastic accomplishment.

K: What is your dream vacation destination?

LAS: I’ve been lucky to visit many places on the globe, but I still haven’t visited Egypt, Spain, Portugal, Thailand, Turkey or Russia. They are definitely on my wish list.

K: Do you have any interesting dreams or goals?

LAS: I have a recurring dream that involves not being able to find a working bathroom, but that’s probably not what you meant. My work-related goal is to have one of my books on the NY Times Bestseller List for a year, preferably while I’m alive. My personal goal is to live long enough to have a flock of adored and adoring great-grandchildren and take them on international adventures.

K: Where can fans find you?

LAS: I love emails from fans and answer each and every one. My address is WriteLisa@LisaAprilSmith.com. And do tell everyone you know to visit my website: http://www.LisaAprilSmith.com.

It’s 1961 and Palm Beach socialite, irresistible rascal and devoted father Jack Morgan encounters genuine danger while staging his suicide to shield his beloved daughters from disgrace. Next, meet his daughter Charlotte (Charlie), an over-indulged 23 year-old struggling to cope with the traumatizing loss of her beloved father, her sister’s resulting mental breakdown and the discovery that she’s suddenly penniless. Fortunately Raul, an admiring young attorney, appears to offer assistance. As terrified as she is about daily survival, Charlie soon realizes that she has to learn what drove her father to kill himself. With Raul’s much needed ego-bolstering, the drive of necessity and unforeseen determination, Charlie finds a practical use for her annoyingly lean 5’ 11” frame. In time, this career finances her hard-wrought independence, her sister’s costly treatment and an emotional eye-opening journey to Paris.
Jumping back in time to romantic pre-WWII Paris readers meet young Alan Fitzpatrick – aka Jack Morgan – lack-luster artist, expert lover, irresistible rascal, and the bewitching girl who will become the mother of his children. Not even Charlie’s relentless detective work will uncover all Jack’s secrets, but in a fireworks of surprise endings, she discovers all that she needs to know and more: disturbing truths about her father, hew own unique talent, crimes great and small and a diabolical villain.

The trial had everything an ambitious prosecuting attorney could want: a solid case against a known crimelord and a seductively beautiful witness with a steamy past - ingredients guaranteed to pack a courtroom."
