Nothing burns as bright as the flames of the refiner’s fire.
Moments after hearing the Council sentence her enemy to life imprisonment for
attempted murder and illegal use of magic, Darcy is whisked away by the
Fates—accused of tampering with destiny. The cherished dream she shared with
Mason has been called into question, placing doubt about whether they are
actually true mates. To resolve it, a price must be paid—the Heart or Death—a
grueling series of tests designed to reveal a person’s worth.
The stakes are high and Darcy finds herself facing the unknown in conditions
that leave her more vulnerable than she’s ever been. Separated from Mason and
her Pack, with Devlin as her only companion, she is pushed to her very limits.
She must succeed—or lose everything.
Will she crumble under the pressure or emerge stronger for testing fate?

How Did I Get Started Writing?
How Did I Get Started Writing?
It all
started with a suggestion. Isn’t that how many good things begin—with the
gentle prodding of friends and loved ones? I remember about three years ago, a
confidante turned to me and said “Belinda, have you ever thought about
writing?” My reaction? I laughed so hard and adamantly declared “Never. I’ll
never write anything or share it.” He raised his eyebrows and smiled. He knew I
wouldn’t be able to resist, and sure enough two weeks later, I had him read my
first ever short story—Love Bug. Just a little something, my first ever romance,
and who better to right about than my obsession with … the Jonas Brothers.
Yeah, I had it bad so it seemed fitting!
What
happened, though, was the whole writing process intrigued me and it light a
fire. Next thing I knew, I was lying in bed and dreaming about the scenes from
books I’d been reading. Haven’t we all done that? Substituted ourselves and
then tweaked the story where we get those swoony moments? I mentioned this to
my confidante and he introduced me to the concept of fan fiction. Wow! I
started writing and it wasn’t long before I realized—I want to create my own
stories with my own characters. But could I do it?
I’m a
dreamer. I can wake up in the morning and tell you detail after detail of all
the things I saw while I was asleep. Sometimes though, I only remember a few
things—emotions, images, concepts but it’s enough to get me thinking all the
next day. I was telling my confidante about a dream I had—one where there was a
woman who saw the brutal beating of the man she loved and spent the remainder
of the time running only to be confronted right at the end. I woke up with the
terror, the anger, and that “OMGSH” feeling when the stalker was revealed.
Bless this man’s heart as he once again suggested, “Belinda, write.” And so I
did.
So there
you have it. That’s how I got started in writing but …. There’s one more part
to my story. It includes someone who came into my life at a very crucial time
and filled a spot in my heart that was ready for change. Lacey Weatherford has
been one of my biggest supporters when it comes to writing. It was her
suggestion that I try NaNoWriMo three years ago – the epic challenge of writing
50,000 words in a month and I was with her when I finished. What a complete
rush!! I started working on Broken Promises (the result of another dream) and
fell completely in love with writing.
From
there, I’ve written more swoon—Forget Me Not, Testing Fate, Enchanted Hearts,
plus my next release, Loving Liberty. I’ve got a lot of exciting things planned
and can’t wait to share them all! I love my life, and to think—all this just
from one suggestion.
A homesick Aussie living amongst the cactus and mountains of
Arizona, Belinda Boring is a self proclaimed addict of romance and all things
swoon worthy. When she's not devouring her latest read, you can find her
celebrating her passion for books on her blog The Bookish Snob.
With all that excitement, it wasn’t long before she began writing, pouring her
imagination and creativity into the stories she dreams. Whether urban fantasy,
paranormal romance or romance in general, Belinda strives to share great plots
with heart and characters that you can’t help but connect with. Of course, she
wouldn’t be Belinda without adding heroes she hopes will curl your toes.
Surrounded by a supportive cast of family, friends and the man she gives her
heart and soul to, Belinda is living the good life. Happy reading!
