Tell my fans a little bit about yourself and your books.
I have a neurotic Yorkie named Rocco who insists that he has to be touching me when I write. He is the travelingest dog. He goes almost everywhere with me!
I grew up in the Seattle area, though we spent three years in Chile, South America when I was a teenager, before returning. I probably would have graduated high school there, but the political climate was shifting and we left - in a hurry.
Currently I live outside Atlanta. I love to travel, as I touch on further in this interview.
My books are primarily contemporary romance, drawn from real life experiences. In another life I worked in the entertainment field - public relations, management, that sort of thing. . .so I have a wealth of characters and experiences to draw on. I do dabble with historical, have one I am researching right now - and I have another that is more main stream thriller/mystery that's in the pipeline.

How would you introduce your books to someone that has yet to read them?
Let's see. . .that's hard. I have some that are "cougar" - older woman/younger man - though the women aren't just say 40's with a 20 something year old. . .they can go all over the age spectrum. That's a specific audience in itself.
I have a historical cowboy series. . .
And of course I have the Tudor Dynasty series about a rock n roll family. . .

What inspired you to start writing? What age did you start?
I can't remember when I didn't write, nor do I know what inspired me to write. It was something I've always done. However, when I was in high school I had a phenomenal Creative Writing teacher who encouraged me to pursue my writing.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
I love to travel - I suppose I've always had that wanderlust - I have always ridden horses, so I enjoy that whenever I have the chance. I also inherited a business - so learning the ends and outs and keeping it going.  Keeps me busy when I'm not writing. Mainly to relax I read, knit or listen to music.

What advice would you give to an aspiring author?
Keep writing. No matter if you think it's junk or not - write. If you get stuck,  put it aside.

What’s your favorite scene/line from your works?
There's a hot kilt scene in Tartan Deadlines where Rae and Rory are dancing - yum.

What's the hardest thing about writing?
Writers block - I've been dealing with it off and on since the first of the year. It can be most frustrating. I just try and find writing related things to do - and that helps overcome it.

What are you currently working on?
I have just finished the first of the Tudor spin-off series. The book is entitled Encore! and the series is Secret Passions. I've now started working on the second book - and I'm fooling around with a prequel to Tudor Rose. . .

What books did you read as a child?
Anything of Marguerite Henry's I could get my hands on (she wrote wonderfully written and illustrated  horse stories - Misty of Chincoteague), of course there was Nancy Drew, Black Beauty, Jane Austen's wonderful books.

How has your life changed since you began writing?
Since I've been writing in some way or fashion all my life, it really hasn't changed my life. Though I will admit it does get crazier when the characters won't shut up.

Do you listen to music while you write?
Sometimes - and when I do my playlist is all over the place! I listen to anything from Paul McCartney, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Lynyrd Skynyrd to Cold Play, Stripe, Andrea Bocelli, Itzhak Perlman and David Garrett. I've always been a music buff, but sometimes I need quiet to write.

What's been your favorite moment as an author?
Well I can't tell you that! But finding out I was a finalist for the 2012 RONE awards for my book Tudor Rubato. It didn't win, but it was an honor, and probably my favorite moment to date - outside of the one I can't tell you about.  *insert evil laugh*

Out of all of your characters, who is your favorite?
I love Amadeus and Zara from the Tudor series. They so belong together. But I have a new spin-off series coming this summer - and Daniel and Mary are by far my favorite characters - ever!

What do you want readers to take away from your books?
That I write believable stories, my characters are real and passionate and that they (the readers) can tell how deeply my writing affects me. That my writing is my way of giving back.

Do you have any interesting dreams or goals?
I would love to experience being on the NYT or USA Today best selling list - and I would love to co-author or be part of an anthology. . .and write a screenplay which sells.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In writing - doing the same -trying to achieve the above, if it hasn't happened already. As for the rest, we'll have to see what transpires. . .I foresee some changes. . .before long. . .

Rae looked up from the computer screen to see a man of about forty standing in the doorway. His height was slightly below the doorframe. He was tall. Wearing blue jeans and an Irish fisherman's sweater with a pale blue shirt underneath, his dark brown hair contrasted off the sweater. Sable brown eyes observed her. His smile only increased his handsome good looks.
"You look good sitting there." He boomed in a loud Scottish brogue. "I'm Rory MacGregor and welcome to MacGregor Communications Mrs. Spencer."
Rae started to get up out of her chair, but her legs felt like jelly. She finally got hold of herself, stood and met him halfway.
"It's so good to finally meet you, Mr. MacGregor."
He extended his hand and took Rae's in a firm grip.
"And it's good to meet you as well. Please call me Rory. I don't believe in old fashioned formalities in the office."
"Well then Rory, please…call me Rae."
He sauntered into the office and sat down in one of the two leather and chrome chairs strategically placed in front of the glass and chrome desk.
"Very well how about if I introduce you properly to the staff? I can give you a run down on what everyone does. I know it'll boggle your mind for a week or two but you'll learn quickly."
"That sounds good." she replied, trying not to look at him too directly.
Damn Shawn! He hadn't told her Rory MacGregor was not only a younger man he had failed to let her know how handsome a man he was. Not that she was interested. A relationship with a man was the furthest thing from Rae's mind since all the nastiness with Duncan, the divorce…his girlfriend.
