Review: The Siren's Son by Helen Scott!

He's an immortal warrior, but one lovely mortal will tempt him to defy his fate.

Alec Cantio is the son of a siren. He and his three brothers hide their true identities while protecting humans from the negligence of the gods. All Alec wants when he visits his favorite magic shop, Speak O’ the Devil, are provisions for his task. But he finds instead a mortal woman, innocent and brave, who tempts him to all he can never have.
Eilidh MacLeod just wants to close her grandad's shop, and mourn him in peace. But when she's thrust into a world filled with magic, mythical creatures, and gods, she must find a way to control her powers, or be destroyed by a vengeful Circe. At the same time, she must deal with her powerful attraction to the magnetic Alec.

Can Alec and his brothers protect Eilidh until she comes into her power? And can she harness her magic to save them, and all mortals?

This is the first novel I have read by Helen Scott and it will not be my last. I very much enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading more from her. I am a big fan of paranormal romance. I especially love when I am introduced to new creatures or new spins on old ones. I love the fact that these brothers are male sirens that have wings. How cool is that? Though they still sing like traditional sirens. (The ending scene was my favorite!) This novel definitely gets points for being unique. I enjoyed the writing style and found myself drawn into the story quickly.

I loved that our female character was Scottish and that played a big part in the story. It was fun reading her dialogue. Her and Alec have great chemistry. There is a good balance between sweet and sensual scenes. I enjoyed that the novel had a good story line instead of focusing on sex. I love novels that not only have great relationships between the two main characters, but I also love about reading about familial relationships. These brothers had an interesting dynamic and I cannot wait to learn more about all of them. And, of course, I have to point out the stunning cover. I'm in love!

I recommend this to anyone looking for a unique paranormal romance that is both sweet and spicy!
