A question that I am asked often, but never really elaborate on is, “How did the Moon Coven Series come into existence?”

The answer is simple. I had a crazy dream about a witch and a vampire one night. When I woke and began pondering what would happen if those two creatures ever had some sort of a relationship... the pieces just sort of fell into place. I wanted to make sure in this series, every creature had a natural enemy. Therefore, every mythical being could be killed. In the Moon Coven series, a vampire bite is lethal to a witch. A brogadh’s bite is lethal to a vampire and so on. I wanted to pull from elements that had rarely or never before been used. I hope that I’ve accomplished that from the readers perspective.

My family actually IS from Galway, Ireland (my grandparents). So, it was natural that I would use that as the Moon family’s beginnings. Witches have always fascinated me. I mean “real” witches, not like “Glenda” from the Wizard of Oz witches. I mean like witches that channel the earth’s natural energy. Their positive attitudes and outlook on the natural beauty in everything inspires me. I set out to research the Wiccan lifestyle and all that it encompassed. I also spent countless hours shaping my vampires from clay. I wanted them to have unique, but very distinguishable physical traits that someone ‘in-the-know’ would be easily able to spot one.

So, in summary... dreams and lots of research. And, that’s not just with this series. I have many friends that are writers also and this is very common among us. I hope that I’ve given a little more insight into how exactly your favorite witches and vampires came to be.

Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about me...
Seriously, if I wrote a book about myself it would take you ten minutes to read and you would be bored stiff after the first two! LOL

I'm a full-time writer, wife, and mother. Which basically means there's always a surplus of pencils lost somewhere in my hair, I usually have some place to be (I'm always late), I have a bad habit of calling family and friends random character's names (from my books), I talk to myself because no one else listens to me, and I can throw together a mean dinner for eight with only ten minutes notice and four ingredients in the pantry, LOL.

If you can't find me on the sidelines of my sons' football games, online, cooking, cleaning, shopping, at the local coffee joint or on the phone wandering aimlessly throughout my house then I've probably hidden myself in my "bat-cave" to write.

I have a positive attitude, and absolute fun-loving approach to life. That makes it easy for the voices in my head to take over on a regular basis providing endless hours of entertainment for my pleasure, and hopefully yours.
