Spartan Surrender by Kristine Cheney review!

Synopsis:
The exciting Spartan Heart Saga continues!

Stubborn and independent, Taryn Hampton takes a calculated gamble. Despite the dangers of a half-breed birth, she’s run off to Blackpool Sands, determined to deliver Thessalus’ baby alone. But when complications arise, desperation soon sets in. With no one around to save Taryn and her unborn child, she’s forced to barter with an evil nemesis for the safety of her newborn. Cursed to endure the consequences of her foolish decisions, she must face this eternal punishment with a mother’s sacrifice.

Thessalus Agiad wants only Taryn, but the willful woman refuses to submit to her feelings. Finding out about his unborn, half-breed babe, he’s aware that Taryn loves him, but she’s still terrified of his immortality. To make matters worse, she now fears his child that grows within her belly. Tired of her repeated rejections and the endless game of chasing after her, Thessalus gives the woman he loves an ultimatum.

The Oracle Demona is wretched, as ever. Tipped off by one of her visions, she awaits the day to retaliate against Dorien and Evangeline. Aware of Taryn’s impending folly, Demona exploits her mistakes to the point of utter devastation. The Witch hires the rakish immortal, Dastan, to carry out her evil plans, knowing well that he’s just another pawn in her self-rigged game.

Enamored with Taryn Hampton, Dastan wants the feisty vixen for himself. Thessalus Agiad is the only man who stands in his way. Hired by Demona to kidnap Taryn, Dastan decides it’s an added bonus to torment his enemy. But Taryn is sick with fever, and he gets more than he bargained for when she becomes a tempting siren in his bed. It matters not that his comely hostage believes that he is Thessalus.

Curses, manipulations, and fears may decimate everything that lies between Taryn and Thessalus, but sometimes love can balm the scars of a wounded soul, and force the most stubborn heart to surrender.

My Review:

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed at all. I knew as soon as I saw the sexy, gorgeous cover that this story was going to be amazing, and it was.

Spartan Surrender is the fantastic and breathtaking new installment to Kristine's Spartan Series.

Spartan Surrender follows Taryn and Thessalus. Their story is a lot darker, more sensual, and more complicated than Spartan Heart. It is purely a battle of the heart for not only the characters, but for the readers as well. The novel is very emotional and heartbreaking. It may just be Kristine's best work yet! SS is a roller coaster, complete with some beautiful, touching, swoon worthy scenes, and some scenes that will have you cringing or grasping your Nook/Kindle for dear life. The book was so hard to put down. It's definitely one of those books that you will stay up all night reading, just so you can find out what happens next. This book really makes you feel for the characters. I cried during several parts and my heart broke along with Taryn.

All of our favorite immortals are back including a new immortal, Dastan. Dastan really throws a wrench into this story. Demona is back as well, and more twisted than ever. The end is just priceless and it really opens the way for the next book.

There are no words to describe how much I love these books. Kristine is an amazing writer and story-teller. She is one of my favorite Indie Authors! I constantly go back into Spartan Heart and Spartan Surrender because it pains me to be away from these characters. That's when you know how truly great a series it. I love how these books are a journey; true love conquering all obstacles. It's amazing how much these men really do cherish their women. That's one of the best parts of this series. I love how these big, strong immortal warriors care so passionately for what is theirs. I cannot wait for the next book or for Spartan Surrender to come out in paperback so I can add it to my shelf!!

I recommend this series to anyone looking for a series that is magical, romantic and addictive.

Charmeine by Emily Guido review!

Synopsis:
Can romance develop between a heavenly Light-Bearer and a hellish vampire Blood-Hunter?

Tabbruis is a Blood-Hunter, he drinks blood to survive. Over millennia Tabbruis has wondered the Earth alone aimlessly living through many historical events.

Charmeine just came to the Earth in 1997. Little did she know her destiny was to be Queen of all the Light-Bearers?

When Tabbruis meets Charmeine the attraction is immediate and passionate. They are polar opposites and clash together in a strongly romantic and dramatic way. When she meets Tabbruis, Charmeine’s powers as a Light-Bearer, one who throws lightning, is triggered and grows exponentially.

Charmeine and Tabbruis soon find out they were made by God for each other; however, on the day God cast Lucifer out of Heaven, they were split up by some mistake. Charmeine sacrificed herself to save her Tabbruis but they were sent to Earth as total opposites and in different times. Tabbruis never remembered Heaven, Charmeine or their child. Until he met Charmeine, he did not know he was the King of Darkness and destined to be her Husband on Earth as he was in Heaven.

Once Tabbruis and Charmeine proclaim their love for one another, they have to battle their way to freedom from the evil forces on Earth.

My Review:

I adored this book! Loved it!

A few weeks ago, I received a message from one of my reviewer friends saying that I HAD to check out this book. I read the book without really knowing much about it, and without reading any reviews, which was unlike me. I fell in love!

Charmeine was an absolutely breathtaking book! The story is unbelievable. It's unique, it's powerful, it's romantic and it's beautiful! The novel is rather long, but it's a fast read because it's addictive and hard to put down for even a moment. It really sucks you in and captivates you as well as captures your emotions and holds them hostage. The pacing and the world building are fantastic. The background information really helps the readers get to know who the characters are and why they're like that. I enjoyed it immensely.

I loved everything about the book! All the characters, major and minor, especially the two main characters Charmeine and Tabbruis! Talk about swoon worthy moments between those two! Charmeine is a Light Bearer (angel)and Tabbruis is a blood-hunter (vampire). Their love is forbidden, so they've got kind of a star-crossed lovers thing going on and have to beat all sorts of odds and obstacles for the chance to actually be together. But the story is so much more than that. Emily did a great job coming up with such a wonderful plot! I love the cover! It's beautiful and the characters look a lot like I thought they'd look!

The story is filled with action, romance, and both historical and religious aspects, as well as some crazy twists thrown in for good measure! One of the best things about this book is that it is full of religious things, but in no way is it boring or is the author preaching. It is simply there to solidify an already great story. I believe this is what makes the story so powerful. It's a tale of not only true love, but of great always overcoming evil.

I recommend this book to anyone that likes a unique paranormal romance. I think that this book deserves a lot of attention, and I think that it will indeed get just that in the next few months! I think that people worldwide should pick up this story and fall in love with this incredible world!

I will be anxiously awaiting until I can get my hands on book 2, titled Ransom!

Author interview with Emily Guido!

First off, can you tell everyone a little bit more about yourself?
In the world of publishing, I am a newbie!  I just started writing “Charmeine” about two weeks before Thanksgiving 2011.  Before writing this novel, I was working full time at a college in New Jersey and going to MBA School full time also along with doing what any homemaker does to take care of her home and family like dishes, laundry, cleaning and cooking.

What age did you start writing? What inspired you to start?
I have always had a creative streak in me.  I play violin, sing and have acted in musicals.  However, I have always been a good writer and never got anything below A’s on my papers through high school and college.  I loved romantic literature, especially English Literature.  I took a lot of literature courses even though I was a Business Major.  It’s kind of funny, my earliest memories is in seventh grade our teacher made us journal during the spring semester.  Other kids turned in a thin book maybe twenty papers thick.  I turned in a huge three-ring binder.  In my journal, I drew pictures (even though I couldn’t draw myself out of a paper bag), taped pictures from magazines in it, made up stupid poetry as well as writing every day. When I turned it in, the teacher’s eyes went wide in wonder; she must have thought I was a book geek to the max.  I never thought it was special but during the end of the year party, my teacher went crazy over it and read some of my poems and stories to the class as I sat blushing 10,000 shades of red!  I would give anything to have that stupid journal right now, it got lost in growing up sad to say.

Tell us about your book Charmeine.

Charmeine is a romance first and foremost.  Yes, there blood-hunters (vampires) and light-bearers (angels) in it, but the love story between these two great lovers, Charmeine and Tabbruis are always the most touching and tender scenes I have every written.  They are truly star crossed lovers in every shape and form.  Such total and complete opposites, and Tabbruis and Charmeine so secluded in their own prison with the torture that only lonliness brings.
Tabbruis came to Earth thousands of years ago as a blood-hunter not remembering Heaven, Charmeine, or their family.  Charmeine or Charleen came to Earth in 1997 only remembering Char… She was taken in at a local orphanage and struggled to put herself through school and graduate school to become a teacher.  She loves children and teaching.  When Tabbruis saves her from a blood-hunter who wants to take her to the Elder Council for a death sentence, they immediately know something about each other is intensely different.  Tabbruis doesn’t let his guard down but Charmeine warms his heart!  Finally they both remember Heaven and Tabbruis melts into Charmeine loving arms.  However, there is way more to the story, they have to battle Heaven and Hell to stay together and avoid being put to death because their love is forbidden.  In the process a lot of surprises and twists and turns come into the story too.
If you are a sucker for a love story like me, you will have to have some hankies with you.  The book can just tug on your heart!

How many books will be in the series? Do you have any other books planned that you'd like to write?

“The Light-Bearer Series” will be four novels.  I wanted to make each novel an epic but I have learned the novels have to build with each one laying a foundation for the next.  In the first novel “Charmeine,” there is a lot of backstory.  I had to have it because without the backstory, the novel would crumble.  This novel is long and a person said to cut it in half and make two novels out of it, and I couldn’t do that.  I had to finish the story to some modicum of satisfaction.  I hate reading a series and then it is left in a life and death cliff-hanger!
Do I have other books planned?  Hum, yes!  I do have a rather spiffy idea I’m brewing in my head and it is going to be pretty interesting to write it!

What are you currently working on?

My next novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” is called, “Ransom” is finished.  I’m editing it now.  I have the third novel planned and the fourth is going to be nothing but epic like the first, "Charmeine."  I will blow your and the reader’s socks off for sure!

Who or what has influenced your writing, and in what way?
I have loved all the great romance writers William Shakespeare, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, James Joyce, Dylan Thomas, Charlotte Brontë, Emily Brontë, Jane Austen, Edgar Allan Poe, Guy de Maupassant, Diana Gabaldon, and most recently Felicity E. Heaton.
However, the person who influenced my writing the most is my big sis, Connie.  I had 6 brothers and she and I were the only girls.  Connie was diagnosed with Leukemia and couldn’t go to school, so she would stay home and lie in her hospital bed and watch TV.  My fondest memories are watching “Dark Shadows” and “All My Children” with her while she raved about the hunky men.  I didn’t know what in the heck she was talking about, I was too young to know but I didn’t care, I was with my big sis and that was the only thing that mattered.  Connie died at 16 leaving a whole in my heart.  I’m sure Connie loves my novels.  I always think of her. Ya better believe she would have loved the romance and the hunky man candy in this novel for sure.

What is the best and worst part about being an author?
The best part is the people!  The other authors, the bloggers, and of course the readers have been great to me.  It’s truly amazing the capacity to love people have!  The worst part of being an Author is the EDITING!  It is the bane of my existence!  I hate it because no matter how many times I go through my work, I can’t find all the mistakes and errors.  If you were to ask me what I want for Christmas… it would be free coupons with an Editor!

Are your characters based on people you know?
Oh that is funny!  YES!  I have two gal pals in “Charmeine” and their description is sort of based loosely on them.  Also, Shane is based on a guy I had my first crush on in the 8th grade.  So yes, there are people in my novels that I know.  No one knows how my mind works.  So watch out… you may end up in the next one!

Are any of your characters a lot like you?
I don’t think I’m as pretty, graceful or talented as Charmeine but I am as romantic, loving and accepting as her.  I would have to say it would be Charmeine, but not in the beauty department just in the all-heart department.

Do you listen to music while you write? Do you have playlists for your books?
Oh yes.  I have my iTunes going all the time.  I have about 10 different play lists ranging from classical to the current day hits.  It’s kind of fun to hear what comes up, it depends on my mood and what I’m writing.

Are there any specific things you have to have while you write?
YES!!!  Diet Cherry Coke Zero and earphones so I can concentrate on my writing.

Do you have a certain place/time you write?
Why, yes!  I’m writing this at 2:37 a.m. in the morning.  I stay up very late to get my writing done.  I also write at the kitchen table.  I know that it is not the best place, but I am central to everything and everybody in the house.

What do you do when you're not writing?
Work and go to MBA School, take care of chores at home and I love socializing with my Author, Reading, Blogging, Facebook and Twitter friends I have made!  They are wonderful.

Do you read all the reviews about your books?
Definitely!  I love feedback!  I think it helps me grow and definitely not take myself so seriously.  Everyone has an opinion and even though you would like to please everyone, you can’t.  So I will write to please myself and hope most of you all like it as much as I do.
What is the nicest thing a fan has ever done or said?

I am so new that I haven’t had too many people read the book yet so I don’t know if I have fans, but I do know there is a woman who took pity on me one night when I was really low and no one was READING Charmeine.  She encouraged me and she read it!  She liked it!  Really liked it!  She really was an Angel, and I will never forget her talking to me until 3:00 a.m. in the morning because I was going to quit!  I was going to walk away and Charmeine would have died before she was even born!  Thanks to that Angel, Charmeine lives!

Tell us about your journey to get published?
I got three books at Christmas 2011 on how to get published!  Read them and sent out inquires just like a good little girl night after night.  Very few responded but just to give me rejections.  Then I went out with my gal pals and while crying into my large glass of wine that Charmeine would never live and my gal pals said, “Emily, don't give up!  Too much time has been put into this book!”  After jumping through hoops, I finally did go on Amazon.

Do you read? Who is your favorite author?
I read a lot, and my favorite has to be Jane Austen, LOVE that Mr. Rochester or Mr. Darcy.  They both make my heart flutter.

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors like myself?
Yes... do it, do it, DO IT!  Write what you want and follow your own vision and your heart.  It will never steer you wrong!  As far as the business… get yourself a plate of armor because there is a lot of rejection.  But most importantly, build a social network of other Authors and Reviewers and Bloggers.  Read the other Author sites to get inspiration  Don’t swim in the deep end before getting your Blog, Facebook Page, Twitter, Gravitar, Pin Interest, and email up and running!  You will find these are superior ways deal with the onslaught of self-promotion that you need to do.

Random questions:
Describe yourself in three words

Humorous, Generous and an Adventurer in Spirit.

Favorite band?
Oh so hard, but it has to be Kansas, “Dust in the Wind”. It reminds me life is so precious.  If you listen to the poetry in the lyrics, it is beautiful as well as the music.  I’m a violinist too so the violin solo is pretty awesome also!

Movie?

No!  I can’t say it… That is hard, I’m an old movie Connoisseur so to speak and I love them all but the best, I believe my all-time fav is “To Catch a Thief” with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly directed by Alfred Hitchcock.  Superb!

Color?

Purple baby!

Food?

Steak!  Love it!

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

THE BEACH no question about it!  I LOVE THE BEACH!  It is my Church, my peace, my little bit of Heaven on Earth!

Escaped the Night by Jennifer Blyth Review!

Synopsis:
After the loss of her family, Shanntal must leave all that she’s familiar with to live with her aunt and uncle. Life on this intriguing island is unlike anything her imagination could stir up. She meets Jayce, who unveils an entire new world full of immortals and she finds herself falling in love, befriending fairies, shape shifters and many others. Encountering the vampire ‘Daray’ triggers her memory, placing her back into the realm of nightwalkers. As Shanntal struggles to remember her past, she learns she’s an immortal and not just any kind–she’s one of a kind. She’s the one who can walk in both worlds. An evil named Donovan is hunting her and he’s the stranger from the gardens who turned Daray and changed their lives forever.

As her memory returns, she’s torn between the love of Jayce and her loyalty to Daray and left wondering if she’ll ever get the chance to head up to the colored stars where immortals stay entwined with their true love for all time. Shanntal finds her place, but not the way she expected and now none of their lives will be the same. Both worlds are about to dramatically change and Shanntal’s the key... if she’s strong enough to survive.

My Review:
This is Jennifer Blyth's fantastic debut novel!

Escaped the Night is a breathtaking paranormal romance that has the most amazing line up of paranormal creatures I've ever seen in one novel! It has vampires, werewolves, faeries, shape-shifters, unicorns, immortals, and more! The characters are all great as well! There are ones you hate, ones you love, and ones that make you laugh. Shanntal is the main character and despite having been through and sacrificed a lot, she stays strong through the entire novel! She is very brave, stubborn, protective of those she loves, and has a good heart! All the qualities that make up a great character! Jayce is every girl's fantasy. Handsome, tattoo, charming, romantic, and protective. He introduces Shanntal to the incredible world of the daywalkers VS the nightwalkers, along with all of the other creatures. All of the minor characters are just as entertaining, and really get you rooting for them throughout the novel.

The story is unique! It has many different factors that come together and make a really great book! It has the perfect mix of action and romance. The story had me smiling, laughing, and crying. At the end I had a huge smile on my face and was left feeling completely satisfied. Everything was wrapped up nicely with a big bow on top! (Or a pretty cover!) I really liked that the cover had some hidden significance that was hidden in the story!

The writing is fresh, gruesome at times, beautiful in others. The descriptions were a big part of the story and they do not disappoint! I love how Jennifer captures all the different scenes perfectly. The pacing was perfect for the story, starting off slow and ending with a bang! Just when you think you've figured out what has happened, it changes. A hint of suspense was always present.

Escaped the Night is a wonderful paranormal romance that I definitely recommend to anyone that likes the genre! It is a tale of true love and good overcoming evil, as well as a coming of age story. It's an addictive read that will have you connecting to the characters and will make you not want to put it down!

I will definitely be reading more from Jennifer Blyth! I really hope she chooses to do a sequel!

Thank you to Jennifer for providing the review copy!

Author interview with Lucy-Anne Smith!

Today on the blog I have author Lucy-Anne Smith! Enjoy the cover/blurb for her book Betrayal and the interview!

Blurb:
Life in the English suburbs has always been boring and loveless for Bethenny Anne Dempsey. When her sister Samantha returns from America with tall, tanned new boyfriend Russell in tow, Beth's life no longer seems so dull.

The Californian stirs forbidden desires within her. Desires that would surely destroy her family. Desires upon which she and Russell must not act.
Fleeing to a Swiss ski resort, Beth tries desperately to purge her heart, body and mind of Russell.

While there, she throws herself headlong into a rebound romance whose final destination, Beth hopes, will be the altar.
But, Beth and Russell's desperate yearning for one another ignites a firestorm of deceit that threatens to consume their entire world.

Will Beth be left being the one who commits the worst betrayal of all?

Interview:

First off, can you tell everyone a little bit more about yourself?
--- My name is Lucy , as you probably know.  I'm 34 years old and I live in Bristol, England. I have a boyfriend called John, we have been together for 7 and 1/2 years and I have 4 wonderful children, Megan who's 14, Joe who's 12, Ben who's 11 and Belle who's 3

What age did you start writing? What inspired you to start?
---I started writing at the tender age of 7 and my first really story was about 10 exercise pages long, and I was very proud of it (as I never stick to anything long). I have always enjoyed to write but the story that gave me the kick up the bum to finish an actual full sized novel, was The Twilight Saga. I know it's not the greatest book, but I fell in love with character, Edward Cullen. From there the rest is history, as they say.

Tell us about your book(s)?
---Well at the moment I only have the one out , but I do have another 2 in the pipe line. This one is a romance but the other two are paranormal romance. It's a love triangle, of sorts. Bethenny and Sam are sisters and Sam comes back from being abroad for a year. She brings her new boyfriend , who's called Russell and Russell and Bethenny begin to fall for each other. Things begin to spiral from there.

Are your characters based on people you know?
--- Well when I wrote it, the main male protagonist was based on the lead singer of 'The Red Hot Chili Peppers' because I think he is gorgeous but other than that, not really. The only other names are of Beth's friends who are  named after my children.

Are any of your characters a lot like you?
---I suppose Beth has a little of me in her character, but basically they are all their own creation.

Do you listen to music while you write? Do you have playlists for your books?
--- Yes I always listen to music when I write, otherwise I can't concentrate. My playlist consists of: Muse, fight star, linkin park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Breaking Benjamin, you me at six and a few other bands that can bring some spice.

What are you currently working on?
---There are three that I am currently working on.
   1)  Enough Darkness To See. Which Is a Paranormal romance with a twist.
   2) Sacred Fear. Which is a vampire romance.
The 3rd is a diary type book about how I'm coping with the death of my dad. Everything I make from it will go to Pancreatic Cancer
   UK.

Are there any specific things you have to have while you write?
--- My music, peace and quiet and a drink.
Do you have a certain place/time you write?
---I write in my living room, even though it's the busiest room in the house. I tend to write when I can, as my day can get pretty hectic.

What do you do when you're not writing?
---I love, love, love to read. I also do crafts ie. knitting, crochet, cross stitch etc. I find this relaxing but at the moment we are getting some together for a charity fair in the summer for PCUK again.

Do you read all the reviews about your books?
--- Well, at the moment I haven't got any but as soon as my book is out I will be reading every single one, good or bad, as I think I could learn a lot from them.

Tell us about your journey to get published?
--- I tried sending my manuscript out to traditional publishers, but everyone came back. I would scan the internet every day, at every hour. Then I came across an ebook publishers called Xyno books. I sent in my manuscript and within a week they got back to me, with an acceptance. It felt like all my hard work had paid off.

Do you read? Who is your favorite author?
---Yes I read a lot! It's my joint first thing to do. I have so many authors that I like, Charlaine Harris, Felicity E. Heaton,  J.K. Rowling, Rachel Caine, Cecelia Ahern, Stephen King, Cassandra Clare, Lynsay Sands, Daivid Eddings, J. R. Ward and many more.
Do you have any advice for aspiring authors like myself?
---Never give up. It's a long journey, but you will get there if you want it badly enough. Random questions:
Favorite band? Red Hot Chili Peppers and fightstar
Movie? The outsiders
Color? Red
Food? Anything spicy
What''s the one question that hasn't been asked yet, but you like to be asked?

---When's my book out. It's out this month, hopefully.

Where can fans find you?

Untouched by Sara Humphreys Review!

Synopsis:
SHE SHOULD BE SEEN, BUT NEVER TOUCHED…

Kerry Smithson’s modeling career ensures that she will be admired from afar, which is essential since mere human touch sparks blinding pain and terrifying visions.

EVERY GOOD MODEL NEEDS A HEAVENLLY BODYGUARD…

Dante Coltari is hired to protect Kerry from those who know who she is—or more importantly what she is—and want her dead because of it. Nothing could have prepared him for the challenge of keeping her safe. But, strangely, his lightest touch brings her exquisite pleasure rather than pain, and Dante and Kerry have an otherwordly connection that might just pull them through

My Review:
Untouched, book two of The Amoveo Legend series, is a fantastic book and an easy read that has a gorgeous cover! In the book we go farther into the world of the Amoveo clans and find out more about the group of hybrid-hating Purists. Hybrids are explained more in this one, and we will definitely be seeing a lot more of them later on in the series.

Kerry and Dante are a charming couple that I adored reading about. Kerry, a plus sized supermodel with an extraordinary gift, was very stubborn at first. I really like the fact that Kerry is bigger than the average heroine in a romance novel. It is very refreshing. I also think Kerry's gift, seen by her as a curse, was very interesting and was a good addition to the story. Plus, the animal she shifts into (I'm not going to say what) is pretty badass! Dante is a FOX and I mean that in both senses of the word. He is of the Fox clan, and trying to get over the pasts events with his father. Dante wants nothing more than to claim Kerry as his mate and keep her safe from danger. I found myself liking Dante a lot more than Malcolm. I think it had something to do with his attitude and the fact that he always called Kerry 'princess'.

Samantha and Malcolm, the couple from book one Unleashed, both return in Untouched, which starts a few weeks after the events in Unleashed. Nonnie is also there for a brief period, as well as some new characters. One in particular made the ending very bittersweet.

I cannot wait for book 3, which is titled Untamed! I think it's going to be a great story, and I'm looking forward to reading it!

I would recommend this to any paranormal lover that appreciates a good love story.

Kymberlee Burks-Miller Showcase!

Today on the blog is Kymberlee Burks-Miller! Make sure you wish her a Happy Birthday!!! :)

 (Ebook and paperback)

 (Hardcover)

Compulsion Excerpt:

Mason was going to attack me!  I froze.  I had never seen his teeth protrude from his mouth that way.  He actually looked like a vampire.  Damn it!  He was almost on top of me when my mind started working again.  He’s a vampire!  I flung my hand up at him screaming, “Fire!” and the element flew at him like a flamethrower.   I spun around running for the porch, and almost tripped on the step.  I caught myself on the railing and saw him, now out of the corner of my eye, coming at me again!  What the hell is wrong with him!  I threw my other hand up crying for all of the elements.  “Air, Fire, Water and Earth!”  The elements came from all four directions like a vortex.  Unbearably strong wind spun around him, fire raced around the next layer of my protection, followed by water that enclosed the flames and lastly the ground started to break open shaking horrifically inside of the cyclone of power that was holding him there.  He was fighting my power.

“Goddess Help me!” I screamed as I frantically searched for a piece of wood, nothing!  I could hear that my family now realized something was not right and were coming to help!  Mason had broken free of the elements and had forcefully grabbed me from the porch throwing me on the ground.  I didn’t hit as hard as I should have.  I heard the terror in my covens’ voices as they ran from the house toward us and knew that my life would end right here and now on the already too warm grass.  I looked into the merciless eyes of this vampire as he smiled at me bringing those fangs to my neck.  I waited to feel the pain of his sharp teeth puncturing my flesh, hearing my family screaming at Mason to stop!  They didn’t know how to fight him off of me.
