I was eagerly awaiting this book after reading Mr. President last year and it did not disappoint! Katy never fails to write some seriously swoon worthy books and Commander in Chief was no exception. This story line is so unique. I've never before read a romance novel where the male lead character runs/wins the presidency. I'm not normally a fan of politics, but it was a fun and intriguing spin for a contemporary romance novel. I flew through this novel and while I am sad to see it end, it was an enjoyable sequel and wrapped the duology up nicely.

As with the first novel, there is a good balance between romance and politics. This novel is a bit steamier than the first, which I didn't mind one bit. These characters pair together so well with great chemistry. They bring out the best in each other and I love that.

I highly suggest these books if you're looking for a unique contemporary romance.
